What do I do when my current reality is what other people are praying against? Is my life still valid?

Oh dear, this post is for you! And the answer is a big fat YES! Your life is VALID and guess what? The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that i know is so beautiful for every situation. 


Unlike how the society might make you feel like you’re an outcast or your situation is so hopeless, guess what God wants to give you Joy in that situation that looks so gloomy. 


I couldn’t help but think while praying this prayer in church on Sunday - “Now therefore hear this, you lover of pleasures, who sit securely, who say in your heart, “I am, and there is no one besides me; I shall not sit as a widow or know the loss of children”:”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭47:8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

 


Verse 8b declares that may we not sit as a widow or know the loss of children in Jesus mighty name. Amen 


But if this has been your reality, I can’t but imagine the kind of emotions you’ll be feeling when you hear prayer points like this. Oh yes, this is a sad thing for anyone to experience but is God with you even when it happens? 


Yes my dear reader! Don’t feel left out no matter what your current reality is right now. Your life is very valuable and I’m so sorry that it has been quite tough but do you not know that we have a high priest that is touched with the feelings of our infirmities?


Life is a journey and everyone’s journey is so different because we have different assignments here on earth. So it’s time to embrace your journey, face your truth, find comfort in God, hold your head up high and live your best life joyfully. 


In life, as you grow old, you will realise that in life, it’s not what happened that really matters but how you deal with it! 


Your situation could be widowhood, loss of a child, sickness, pain, barrenness, rejection, addictions etc. 


Believe me, there is power in Jesus to help you live an overcomer’s life. These various situations were meant to destroy and overcome you but guess what? Through Jesus, you can overcome and live a more fulfilling life holding your head up high.

In this life many things define many people, things like money, family name and inheritance, marital status (does your marriage define you?) becoming a parent (does your children define who you are), the colour of your skin and on and on the list goes. Come on people, let's talk! You know while watching Bisi Olatilo show, I saw people dancing and celebrating as a man and a woman were joined together in holy matrimony! People congratulated them, they both danced and you know during the traditional engagement - they told the man to wave bye bye to all the single ladies! I wish that was easy as it looked!!!! Hmmm! You know from my own experience; if you've ever been privileged to do the traditional engagement you'll discover that everything you do there is symbolical of the virtues you need to embrace in marriage! Think about it! So back to the men - have you discovered that most marriage troubles stem from the man?
