This body of clay!

NB: For the purpose of this write-up, I'll use the term 'body of clay' referring to 'body made of dust'.

The thought of our bodies being made of dust crept into my mind as I sat quietly on my sofa reminiscing about life. It was a silent observation and lesson I was taught by something within. The thought flowed thus:

Do you know that this body some people glorify and adore is just a house one's spirit lives in on this earth in order to fulfill purpose and when the time is up, one has to leave it behind and transition into eternity? I was prompted to write this to remind us not to forget this very fact. Please don't get carried away. We are living in a generation where what your eye brow looks like is more important than your inner beauty or state of mind. We celebrate people that look a certain way; we accord them our attention and they even become our role model.

The attention to this body of clay has destroyed so many lives and made many distracted from the very reason why they were sent here on earth in the first place. This body of clay has made many men lose their divine destiny. It has made them leave their wives and children all in pursuit of this body of clay. Male magazines, playboy and other porn industries have used this very tool to appeal to the eyes and lure people into eternal damnation.

It's funny because whether you dress well or not; rich or poor we are all going to decay when we die. Have you ever been sick before? Have you had to go through a surgery that In your recovery stage, you were temporarily immobile? If you've experienced this, then you'll begin to understand the function of each part of your body.

Before I go on and on, please be reminded that yes it's OK to Take care of this body - eat right, exercise well, dress well, look good but by all means don't get carried away. We eat healthy because we don't want to die prematurely before the time allocated for us here on earth elapse. We wear clothes to cover our nakedness and to look presentable.

Our diversity and differences only reiterate the beauty and splendour of God. So please singles, don't rush into pre-marital sex because looks can be deceiving. Boys 2 Men don't fall for the popular saying that you have to test the waters after all you're the guy and you need to know what's up! Don't let this body of clay distract you. Girls 2 women who are having low self esteem because of what you look like - pls relax! God has given you everything you'll need to accomplish what you're here on earth to do. And pls don't let us be so proud because of what we look like, after all, when the breathe of life is removed we become absolutely nothing!!!

So in conclusion, before you act or overreact next time, try and put things in perspective in your mind so that you can produce the right action that will help in fulfilling your divine destiny.  As always, I love you and thanks for reading.

Hmm. This is deep Abiola!

May God help us to be heaven bound, that we forsake the desires of the flesh and feed our spirit right. May we come to a place of absolute surrender and be consecrated in things of the kingdom of God which is where our spirit will live forever.

We pray that the Holy Spirit will purify us from the inside out by his grace. Amen
