Why do we lie and is it really worth it?

I once heard a preacher say that if you lie to a fellow human being, you're simply saying that you fear the person more than you fear God! But is this really true? In our subconscious mind, we want to believe that we fear God more than we fear man but sadly our actions are a huge contrast.

Lying starts from one little lie to the next and before you know it, lying has become a lifestyle. Talking about the issue of lying - everyone has had his/her own share of it! Be it a man lying to a lady only to have his way with her or a lady putting on excessive make - up, flamboyant weaves and attires that accentuate body parts just to get the man of her dreams! Some even say that the reason why they continue to lie is because people cannot handle the truth!

There's no doubt that each one of us were born into a sinful nature; this is demonstrated when a child all of a sudden, without being taught, starts to LIE!!! So should we just continue to lie because we were born into a sinful nature or to consciously turn a new leaf and have a better and peaceful life with ourselves & with God? This is a question we need to ask ourselves!

You can just imagine how different and peaceful our world would be if we were all genuinely honest with one another.

Lies have destroyed so many homes, churches, relationships, career and destiny. We have become a shadow of ourselves!!!

So here's a call to you - COME UP HIGHER!!! If you truly fear God more than man, SHOW IT! Myles Munroe once said,

'Do not let honesty be your best policy, rather let honesty be your ONLY policy'

Remember so many bad things have happened this year - is this a sign to tell us to turn from our wicked ways? Tomorrow is not guaranteed!!! So please let's start living by being truthful ... It's a struggle but we pray that we'll have the grace of God to walk in this new life! By the way, we cannot receive the grace if we do not surrender our lives to Jesus Christ!
