How do you react in the face of calamity?

When things don't go according to your own plans, what do u do? Here, I'll be studying the life of Job to try to find answers to the questions. Studying the life of Job reveals that Job was a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? (Job 1:8 KJV). So humanly speaking, Job was qualified to have a good life but in contrast the calamity that befell him was a form of test and not because he did anything wrong.

So what lesson should I learn here? Please don't take life too seriously; when your life is in God; he does with it as he pleases. He can make me go through good and BAD situations. As humans, we are happy and glad during the good times but when we experience just a bit of a bad time, we regress into a shadow of ourselves. Is this the way we're shaped and is there anything we can do about it? So how do we still keep our joy through the bad times?

In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. (Job 1:22 KJV). After Job's first trial, his terror was further intensified that his friends came to mourn with him for 7 days and they spoke no words to him for they saw that he was in immense grief. Job was in so much pain that he cursed the day he was born. Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived. (Job 3:3 KJV)

Are u going through such a hard time that you see no reason why u were born or that you're tempted to curse the day u were born? Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the dawning of the day: Because it shut not up the doors of my mother's womb, nor hid sorrow from mine eyes. Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly? (Job 3:9-11 KJV).

Do you know that when trouble comes we start to do a checklist to see if we had any loopholes in our lifestyles. Job did same: For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came. (Job 3:25, 26 KJV).

I sought to study the life of Job because I wasn't happy with some things in my life that sometimes stole my joy! So if you're going through any hard time, know that you're not alone and that is just life. Many are not aware that life doesn't only bring us goodness but it's full of ups and downs. May God comfort you at this time! Thanks for reading this post and please share cos you never can tell who this will bless!!! Love u😘!
